The Referral Process

NOMAD accepts both self-referrals and agency referrals. Most of our clients have been referred through the Local Authority Homeless Section, Bridges (Leaving Care), Youth Offending, Probation, Risky Business, Connexions, voluntary organisations and family members.

The referral process usually starts with the initial contact, either a telephone call, or a visit from a young person enquiring about accommodation.

To qualify for a place with NOMAD, certain criteria have to be met. Firstly the young person must be in need of accommodation and within the age range (16 - 25). They must not have a history of arson, sexual offences or violence towards minors. They must be in receipt of benefits, either Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance or equivalent. We may accept referrals if the young person is working, under certain circumstances.

What happens next?

If you would like to contact the Residential Project, either for more information or to refer yourself or someone else as a client, you have two options:

1. Contact the project staff on 01709 364497, or
d.platts@nomadrotherham.co.uk

2. Print off and complete a referral form. Post or hand in at the project at 60 Queen Street, Rotherham, S65 2SZ.
