
What can the Bond Guarantee Scheme offer?
- The bond guarantee replaces the traditional cash deposit requested by landlords at the start of a tenancy.
- SmartMove may provide a bond up to the value of £300 to cover any damage or theft at the property.
- Depending on certain criteria, we may be able to assist with up to a month's rent in advance.
- At the start of the tenancy we inspect the property.
- We ensure current Gas Safety Certificates are provided by landlords where relevant.
- We undertake an inventory which is agreed upon by landlord and tenant.
- We can provide a standard Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement, but will work with one provided by a landlord.
- We will assist with Housing Benefit claims.
- We will liaise with tenant and landlord if any problems arise.

Who can access the scheme?
- Tenants who are trying to access private rented accommodation and require a bond.
- People who are classed as low earners or who are in receipt of benefits.

Pre-arranged appointments are available on Mondays and Tuesdays between 10.30am and 3.30pm at the West Street office.
