The Tenancy Support Scheme can offer help with:

  • Moving into the property
  • Understanding tenancy agreements
  • Making benefit claims
  • Getting furniture and household equipment
  • Registering utilities
  • Budgeting
  • Finding education, training and employment opportunities
  • Practical and emotional support
  • Making local contact and developing friendships

Who can access the scheme?

  • Anyone in the private rented sector, irrespective of whether they have a bond with SmartMove
  • Anyone over 18
  • People on a low wage or in receipt of benefits
  • Single people, families and one parent families

Smartmove can be contacted on 273 8805, or via e-mail at smartmove@nomadsheffield.co.uk

Appointments are Monday-Friday, 9.00am - 4.30pm, and can take place either in your own home or at Rockingham Lane.  A worker will carry out an initial assessment and decide if you fit the criteria for support.  If you do, a support plan will be agreed between yourself and your support worker to address support issues. The support plan is reviewed every 3 months, or sooner if necessary.

Support can be offered on either a short- or long-term basis, up to two years.
