The project aims to help homeless people and people on low incomes to find and settle into decent, affordable accommodation, to provide support to maintain their tenancy and offer a range of support and benefits to Landlords. The scheme consists of a Bond Guarantee Scheme and a Tenancy Support Scheme. The Bond Guarantee Scheme is aimed at people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness. It works with local landlords, and can offer the landlord a 'bond guarantee' in place of the traditional cash bond which would normally be required of the tenant. The scheme assists with every aspect of setting up a tenancy including helping clients with their Housing Benefit claim. For further information, click on the link above. SmartMove's Tenancy Support Scheme offers support to those in accommodation rented from private landlords, who are unable to manage their tenancy without support. The scheme can help with a wide range of issues including benefit claims, budgeting and other practical tasks involved in maintaining a home, and accessing other relevant agencies such as health care and education.What if we can't help?
