The project aims to help homeless people find and settle into decent, affordable accommodation, to provide support to maintain their tenancy and offer a range of support and benefits to Landlords. The scheme consists of a Bond Guarantee Scheme and a Tenancy Support Scheme. TheBond Guarantee Scheme is aimed at people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness. It works with local landlords to keep a list of available properties, and can offer the landlord a 'guarantee' in place of the bond which would normally be required of the tenant. The scheme can also offer clients help with housing benefit claims. SmartMove's Tenancy Support Scheme offers support to those in accommodation rented from private landlords, who are unable to manage their tenancy without support. The scheme can help with a wide range of issues including benefit claims, budgeting and other practical tasks involved in maintaining a home, and accessing other relevant agencies such as health care and education.What if we can't help? Contact NOMAD's Advice Centre or NOMAD's other Tenancy Support Schemes who may be able to help.
